2013 HOLIDAY FLOWER GIRL DRESS TRENDS

With their frilly prom dresses under 100 and baskets filled with petals, we can’t help but be awed by flower girls as they make their way down the church aisle. Leading the path for the blushing bride, flower girls play an important role in the wedding procession. Holiday weddings are becoming very popular, especially around Christmas and New Years. Of course you want your little cuties to shine, which is why choosing the right flower girl dress is important. Traditionally flower girls are to wear white like the bride, but recent trends are showing us that colorful flower girl dresses are in style. Holiday dress colors are ranging from blush pink, lavender to deep reds; bright green greens and dark browns.

Another dress trend we’re seeing for flower girls is lace. Incorporating lace into a dress exudes elegance and is the perfect touch to produce a flower girl’s dress truly special. For those holiday weddings, a lace overlay of orange on brown for Thanksgiving and green, black and red for Christmas and New Years looks beautiful. If you aren’t too into the idea of having the flower girl dress make such a bold statement keeping the colors of the holiday, another way to incorporate color is by purchasing a dress with a coordinating colored sash. Similarly, satin or organza sashes in a coordinating, but not completely matching color is also a trend. For example, a champagne bottle colored flower girl dress looks beautiful with a pink or peach sash as well as a dark blue dress with a greyish sash. Within my Girl Dress we carry holiday flower girl dresses that highlight the trends listed above. We end up needing your flower girls to shine in their own right, which is why we have an extensive number of beautiful dresses.
